Brendan Montgomery is an Ottawa-based photojournalist and founding member of Captis Photos, a photojournalist collective with his two colleagues Connor Evans and Jaclyn McRae-Sadik. He has been shooting for five years domestically and abroad, from small town Ontario to the remains of Chernobyl, Ukraine.

Montgomery’s education includes studying interactive multimedia development at Algonquin College and photojournalism and documentary photography at the School of Photographic Arts, Ottawa. As a freelancer he has sold to various clients, including The Economist, The Guardian newspaper, Amnesty International and Atlas Obscura. In addition to his professional photography work, he has also given talks about photojournalism at the Orleans Photo Club and been profiled in APT613.
